The Abandoned Aquarium

Updated October 2015 | By Matthew Christopher

Opened in the mid 1950s, this aquarium was closed in favor of a larger one that had been built. It was used as part of a museum displaying aquatic creatures before its closure in the 1980s, just over thirty years after it opened. While this abandoned aquarium was relatively small, its flooded hallways and eerie atmosphere made visiting it a distinctive experience.

Please note that the true name of this location has not been disclosed to prevent theft, vandalism, and arson. Abandoned buildings are vulnerable and I do not want my work contributing to their decline.
